PHILADELPHIA, PA, May 4, 2011 – BuLogics, Inc., a leading designer of wireless automation solutions for commercial markets, today announced the finalization of an asset transfer of its consumer products to Zonoff, Inc.

BuLogics was founded in 2003 as a technology development company in order to leverage the wireless technology standards that were in the early stage of development at the time. Since then, BuLogics has designed and engineered dozens of award-winning products for OEMs, and managed some of the industry’s largest-scale automation integration projects.

However, according to founder Ryan Buchert, “Over the years, BuLogics developed a number of consumer-oriented products based on gaps or opportunities we saw in the market. But, realizing that our core competencies were in custom design and engineering services, we made the strategic decision to spin off our consumer products to a firm that could fully exploit them.”

According to Buchert, BuLogics met Mike Harris, the founder of Zonoff in 2010 and realized that Harris’ background as a serial entrepreneur in the consumer electronics industry was an ideal fit for BuLogics consumer-oriented products.

As a result, BuLogics finalized an agreement in May of 2011 with Zonoff, Inc. through which Zonoff acquired BuLogics consumer products and associated technology assets.

PHILADELPHIA, PA, Jan. 6, 2011 – BuLogics, Inc., a leading designer of innovative, wireless technology, and their strategic partner Evolve Guest Controls will be demonstrating their energy saving suite of products at CES 2011 within the Z-Wave Pavilion located in South Hall, Booth 20901. Combining the Z-Wave technology of BuLogics with the manufacturing and marketing expertise of Evolve Guest Controls, the displayed product line reduces energy 30-50% in large implementations such as hotels.

Evolve’s use of Z-Wave technology has enabled properties to integrate its state of the art energy saving solutions into existing buildings, without the monetary costs of expensive installations or the opportunity costs of an “off-market” room during renovation. “The hospitality and healthcare markets have been seeking a technology that will eliminate complicated, time-consuming installations and are simple to retrofit current structures with. Together with the Z-Wave expertise of BuLogics, Evolve’s product line is second to none for effective energy reduction with an approximate ROI for hoteliers of 2 years,” statesLen Horowitz, President of Evolve.

The product line utilizes the Z-Wave network to communicate between energy saving devices that can be installed in forty minutes or less per hotel room. “The Evolve Guest Controls suite of products utilizes the power of Z-Wave mesh networking for hotels, an area previously thought to be the domain of WiFi or ZigBee. Partnering with Evolve, BuLogics can customize these products to any OEM’s needs ranging from large healthcare and hospitality installations to small, multi-unit dwellings,” explainsMirka Walczak, CEO of BuLogics.

About BuLogics

BuLogics, Inc. is a leading developer of innovative, energy saving technology. BuLogics designs simple, wireless technology for multiple market segments seeking to reduce their energy consumption at 1/10th of the cost of similar solutions. BuLogics’ particular expertise is the engineering of wireless control systems used for commercial, industrial, or hospitality energy conservation, lighting, and security.

BuLogics has differentiated itself in the marketplace through the combination of both control and monitoring in its solutions—allowing customers to reduce their energy costs and see actual savings immediately. For more information, please visit www.bulogics.com.

About Evolve Guest Controls

Evolve Guest Controls, an affiliated company of the Mason Family of companies, was created to bring energy efficiency to the Hospitality Industry. One of Evolve’s solutions to energy management is it’s key card based system which controls each of the three main energy consumers in a guest room, including lighting, HVAC, and the television. By inserting their key card, a guest initiates control over each of these elements in the room. When guests leave and remove the keycard, the lighting and television are powered down and the HVAC reverts to the property’s predetermined room settings, thereby eliminating wasteful spending while helping to support a green environment. Hoteliers can expect a 30%-50% savings on their energy costs with an approximate ROI of 2 years. Evolve has also recently introduced its Directors Series EM and lighting control system with full LCD scene controls offering limitless options for the hotelier and end user.

PHILADELPHIA, PA, Oct 28 2010 BuLogics, Inc., A leading provider of wireless products was presented a $175k grant by Michael A. Nutter, Mayor of Philadelphia. Nutter announced that the City would offer grants to three local businesses developing cutting edge green technologies. This effort, titled the Greenworks Pilot Energy Technology Program (G-PET), will help the companies conduct real-world pilots of their products, a crucial step toward bringing their products successfully to market. BuLogics was one of only three business in Philadelphia to receive the grant.

“Turning ideas into products, companies and jobs is one of the most important things we can do to harness the power of the growing clean tech economy,” said Mayor Nutter. “That’s what this is all about – helping Philadelphia businesses bring their concepts to life. Thoughtful investment strategies are why the region is increasingly seen as a center for the clean tech economy. It’s why the Department of Energy and other federal agencies are investing nearly $130 million to build the Greater Philadelphia Innovation Cluster for Energy Efficient Buildings (GPIC), and why cutting edge international firms like the Mark Group are basing their operations in Philadelphia.”

The goal of this innovation program, the only one of its kind in the United States, was to find companies whose products had sound technical footing and strong business plans but were still relatively untested. Demonstrating “real world” success by finding a “first user” can be a major barrier to the success of new projects. Therefore, G-PET helped companies find that “first user” by absorbing the cost and risk of adopting the product.

For several of the awards, the “first user” will actually be a public facility, meaning that the City will benefit not only indirectly, from the growth of the companies being supported, but directly, in the form of savings on energy costs on its own bills.

“We are truly thankful to be a recipient of the Greenworks Pilot Energy Technology Program grant, a wonderful initiative sponsored by the City of Philadelphia, PIDC, and Ben Franklin Technology Partners,” said Mirka Walczak, chief executive officer of BuLogics, Inc. “Our company mission is to help others save energy through our inventions, while maintaining a socially and environmentally responsible attitude in all that we do. And the G-Pet grant allows us to do just that.”

“We may never have been able to pave the way for such exciting energy conservation projects without the G-PET grant. Evolve Guest Controls, and its Philadelphia-based technology affiliate BuLogics, will bring innovation and energy savings to the Inn at Penn that we feel will make a significant impact on our use of energy resources. We look forward to our installation of this state-of-the-art guest room energy management system, “Greg Stafford, General Manager, Inn at Penn.

About G-PET

G-PET was developed by the City of Philadelphia and implemented in partnership with the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) and the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Applicants applied online over the summer, and their applications were reviewed by a panel of independent scientists and investors to select those that have the best chance of moving successfully into the market, creating jobs, and advancing the region as a center for the clean tech economy.

“G-PET is unique. Its goal is to fund pilot testing of new energy-related products being developed by innovative, regional enterprises. That work will help accelerate the introduction of new products into the marketplace,” said RoseAnn B. Rosenthal, President & CEO of Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern PA.
