History

BuLogics, Inc. began as a partnership in 2003 between two award-winning, Drexel University electrical engineering graduate students, Ryan Buchert and Dr. Michael Balog. The partners had a vision of harnessing complex, wireless control technologies and developing them into easy-to-use solutions that would make people’s lives simpler. They recognized a unique opportunity if they could apply their wireless control inventions to the standards that would eventually become the most accepted, Z-Wave and ZigBee.

While working towards the completion of our own product lines, we took on a variety of complex wireless development projects. Through the years, our engineering staff became fully exposed to emerging Z-Wave technology and quickly became experts in this wireless standard. In June 2008, the Z-Wave recognized this expertise by naming BuLogics as one of only two companies in the world to test and certify products for compliance with the Z-Wave standard.

After years of trial and error, we developed a new BuLogics product line to meet increasing consumer demand for a “plug-and-play” model for energy reduction. This technology was taken to another level when the BuLogics team realized the benefits of connecting the Z-Wave standard to the Smart Grid. BuLogics has been studying ZigBee as a complimentary technology throughout the history of the company. The first Z-Wave controller to connect to the Smart Grid was first demonstrated EXH in November 2008. Since this demonstration, BuLogics became ZigBee certified.

Currently BuLogics is located in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA. We are always looking for partners and collaborations.
